Her members come and they use the website as a way for them to get traffic. How do

banners, products, and they surf for credits or they upgrade so they don’t have
to surf but, they are still able to use the website to get their things seen for
FREE.

Right now Mom has 1,635 members and they are all really great people… Mom and ITeacup Puppy Traffic

She just grins from ear to ear with so much joy. When I see Mom so happy that makes

Mom has put a few games on there you can play and she has trivia questions that

Mom and I are always thinking of new things for our Traffic Exchange. Mom puts out
an email every nite to all of the members for them to look for things on our website
so they can earn more credits and if you’re lucky some money.

Mom and I get with other Traffic Exchange owners and we do these things called

Bringing Home That New Puppy

2012-07-079518.50.52Hello my name is Dobie, I’m a two year old male Chihuahua. I came to live with Mom a few months back. With me being the new kid on the block Mom has started training me so I will learn the rules. She will be teaching me what I can do and what I can’t do with a firm but loving hand. I know it will take me some time to learn exactly what she wants from me but when finished I will be considered a perfect pet.

I have heard Mom tell people that when they bring a new dog or puppy home that you want to get the whole family involved in the training. Even though there will probably be only one person doing most of the training , that will help us dogs to realized that we have to obey the rules no matter what.

When you are trying to train one of my young cousins is very important to resist playing games like tug-war. Yes I know it fun to play with puppies when they grab one of your socks when your either putting them on or taking them off. The Dad I had when I was a small puppy would take his sock half way off and let me grab and shake it and shake it till it finally came off then i would take off running till he caught me then we would play tug-war with it. I thought it was lots of fun until my first Mom read a book on dog training. She says it says not to play those kind of games because it cause aggressive behaviors, such as biting. The good news is that once puppies get older and are trained the right way you can play these rougher kind of games.

You need to know we get really confused if everybody in the family doesn’t use the same commands. If anyone uses different commands we can’t figure out what you want us to do. And that confuses us because we want to please you but we don’t understand the other commands.

I need to let you in on a little secret . You should pay attention to the number of treats you give us as rewards when in training. You need to take it into consideration when deciding how much to feed us at meal time. If not you could even up with a overweight member of the family.

Boy, Mom really knows her training because she will give me a special yummy treat that she uses just for training. They are so good that I really try my best to learn what she is trying to teach me just so I can get the special ones.

These special training treats that my Mom uses is called Turkey Jerky by Jerky Direct. I just love them. They are 100% all natural and nutrion4 petsMom says they are really good for us pets. With them you don’t have to worry as much about them putting extra weight on us as with most of the other treats.

A consistent schedule of feeding and potty-time is very important when house training your dog. This will help you know when you have to take your dog outside, before he ruins your carpet. This helps your puppy learn to “hold it” for a bit, until he knows it’s time to go out and will help save you money on carpet cleaning.

Make sure you keep up a regular feeding schedule if you are trying to potty-train a puppy or even a new dog you may be bringing into your home. This will help both of ya’ll to know when it’s time to go out side or to the potty area you have chose for them.

Halloween Tips For Pets

Hallwoeen Tips For Pets

Dobie

Hello everyone Dobie here. I am a four pound, two year old Chihuahua. In a few days everyone will be celebrating a fun time for the kids, Halloween. It is a fun filled time for humans but can be a dangerous and scarey time for us pets. Please, what ever you do don’t leave any of us outside. Every year you hear where vicious pranksters will tease, injure, steal or even kill some of my cousins in the animal world. I just really don’t understand those kind of people, but they think its funny to do horrible things to us pets especially on this day. So make sure you put up and keep any of your pets where nobody can get to them. You just don’t know how stressed we can get with all those strangers around dressed in all that scarey stuff. Since we will probably be stressed out please make sure we are somewhere where we can’t slip out the door when the trick o treaters start coming to the door.

Halloween Tips For Pets – Candy

Another bad thing about this day is all the chocolate and candy that is everywhere. Boy do I love chocolate but Halloween Tips For PetsMom says I cant have it because it is very dangerous for us animals. In fact it can be very poisonous to me and all my cousins in the pet world. So please make sure to tell the kids not to be trying to slip us any of their Halloween loot, darn it . But I know it is not good for me.  That tin foil and cellophane is also very dangerous for us. It is shiny and makes noise which really makes it tempting to my cat cousins. But if it is swallowed it can be really harmful to us. We can chock on it , it can get stuck in our throats, and even cause problems in our tummies. So please make sure it don’t get thrown in floor or any place we can get to it.

Halloween Tips For Pets – Candles

Trick-or-treat candles are something that we should never be around unless there is an adult there all the time. Also lit pumpkins, because we could accidentally knock them over and cause a fire. For cats like my brother Meow Meow, lit candles can be a very big risk cause of their curiosity can cause them to get burnt really bad. So Mom says to use battery operated candles in your pumpkins.

Halloween For Pets – Costumes

Halloween Tips For PetAlso something that really bugs me is you people that dress us in Halloween costumes. Grrrrrrrrr come on people now really.  Us boy dogs don’t like being dressed as a fairy or lady bug, no more than our sisters like being dressed as a pirate. Beside most of us don’t like being dressed in anything anytime except for maybe a sweater in the winter when it really cold. But if you just have to dress us up please whatever you do make sure you don’t put masks on us. Even the sweetest of my cousins can be snappy when we can’t see what is going on around us.

Halloween Tips For Pets – Microchip

I know we should wear our ID tags all the time but especially at Halloween in case one of my cousins gets out.  People that find us can get us back to where we belong. Hey here’s an idea for all you pet owners out there, get us micro-chipped. Microchips do save lives. So Halloween is a great time to get us all micro-chipped.

So from all us pets out there to all you humans please have a great, fun filled, but safe Halloween.

Living with a Crazy Lady

LukeHi my name is Luke and I’m a German Short Hair
and would like to tell you about a situation that I have
encountered in my older years.

You see I’m getting on up in age (12 in doggie years) and my
owner is a truck driver.  For years I use to travel all over in the
comforts of his truck.

Well life happens and you just need to go with the flow. So what
happened?  That big D word happen and now my owner has an
ex, an ex house, an ex truck – you know how the story goes.

Because of having 19 years experience, he got another job right
away and I was so excited – back on the road again – but his
“new” boss had these crazy rules – no dogs.

Where did that leave me?  Well, I got moved over to his daughter’s
place – she lives upstairs at her mom’s house and when I first got
there it was pretty cool.  But as time went on, my ole legs and hips
really had a hard time with all those steps.

So in the meantime, my owner met this lady and she and him
came over to visit me and started moving my bed, dog dish, etc. in
this truck.  I was so excited – back on the road again.

The truck started and down the road we went – ohhhhhhhh I sure
had missed riding in a truck (even tho this one was tiny).  Well we
drove for quite a few hours and then they opened the doors and
started taking all my stuff out of the truck.

Hmmmm now what is up – looks like a nice place and wow look at
all this yard, well let’s go check this out.  So got out of the truck
and my owner started hauling stuff up these steps (oh no steps
again) and into this strange house.

So I was curious and followed him in (yes only 3 steps yeah) and
walked around checking things out.  WOW I was allowed to walk
around in all the rooms – which had been a no-no before.

This was great,  freedom in the house, big back yard – well I must
have died and went to heaven. This lady kept talking that baby talk
(you know how those humans get when they get around a cutie
like me) I just let her do her thing after all she was feeding me
treats (Hey I like this lady)

Then the dreaded day came, I seen the suitcases, I knew he
would be heading out again – yeahhhhhh I get to go trucking again
- WRONG.  He turns to me and says Luke be good boy and see
you when I get back.

WHAT??????  He’s leaving me – I don’t know this lady yet, oh crap
now what am I going to do.  Well I went over to my bed and
flopped, pouted and then she did it (rattled that treat box).  Oh she
knows my weakness.

So like a good doggie I go running wagging my tail – I want to
impress her you know so I get more treats.  Well, being the older
and wiser dog that I am – it didn’t take me long to wrap this lady
around my paw.

This is actually fun, I go woof and she comes running – woof and
she lets me out, woof and she lets me in, woof and she fills my dog
dish, woof and she gets me clean water, oh and one more woof
and she folds my blanket so nice on my bed – yep this must be
heaven and I am a doggie angel.

Well what my owner didn’t tell me is that this women is crazy – she
had this thing that she wear on her head that has a blinking blue
light on it and she wears this everyday.  She runs around the
house talking to herself, laughing so hard that she cries – so like
the good dog that I am when she finally sets in this chair that she
seems to live in – I’ll go over and lay my head in her lap.

See I have no idea why she does all this talking and laughing but
the least I can do is give her my sympathy and that seems to calm
her down, she will pat me on the head, even will get the brush and
groom me and once in awhile I will hear my name and I raise my
big brown eyes at her and she just melts and then I get hugs.

So you see I’m really not sure what this crazy lady is talking about
most of the time but I sure seem to be keeping her happy and
here I thought I went to heaven – well it just seems that I was
dropped off to take care of this lady – guess she needed someone
to watch out for her.

Thanks for listening to my story and from time to time I’ll drop back
and share some more of my entertaining times with this crazy lady.

Convicted Animal Abuser Gets a Dog

Today as I was going through my emails, I came across an article from a site that I am a member of. The site is Care2.com. Once a week I get a newsletter from them called Care2Causes, where there are articles of all kinds. They range from cooking, all kinds of animal news, health and wellness, science, and tons of other things.  So I kinda look forward to getting it every week to catch up on things. Today I was reading it and all of a sudden my blood started to boil.

Convicted Animal Abuser Gets a DogI came across an article a bout Michael Vick. For those of you that don’t know who Michael Vick is, he is the NFL (National Football League) football player who spent 18 months in prison for bankrolling a dog fighting ring at Bad Newz Kennels in Virginia. He was convicted for putting on and also fighting his own dogs in one of the worse animals cruelty cases ever. There was witnesses to him drowning and hanging dogs from trees that wouldn’t perform in the fighting ring. Using pets and smaller dogs as “bait dogs”. Most of the poor Convicted Animal Abuser Gets a Dogdogs that was rescued out of his kennel ended up having to be put down because of the abuse they had been put through. Only a very few were able to be saved.

He has now bought a dog for a pet for his family. Of all people to now own a dog, he is not the one I would ever consider to let have a pet of any kind. The only way anyone found out about it was he tweeted a picture of him and his daughter sitting at a table with an open box of Milk Bones seen in the picture. He then re-tweeted it with them cut out of the picture. At first he wouldn’t comment on the picture.

Later he released a statement talking about how he wants to teach his kids the importance of having a healthy relationship with animals. Well the question I would love to ask Mr Vick is how does he explain to his kids how he treated his animals he had owned before. Also if their pet is a “loving member of the family” now, well what about all the poor animals he was abusing for those years before. Were they members of the family also? Being such an animal lover this has really disturbed me. Not only the unthinkable abuse he put those dogs through but it is people like him and his buddies that give Pit Bulls such a bad name. They can be such sweet loving and gentle dogs if raised and treated right, but when they are abused from the time they are puppies till they either get killed fighting are killed by their owner for not fighting the way they wanted them to, what can you expect from them?

Convicted Animal Abuser Gets a Dog

If you would like to read this article you can go to Care2.com.  The aurther was Alicia Graef and you can find it at http://www.care2.com/causes/michael-vick-got-a-dog.html

Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month

Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-MonthHello,  Pete the Dashound here and I just dropped by to remind everyone that October is National Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month.  Every year the ASPCA (American Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals)  takes the whole month of October to try and help people to learn more about all the homeless cats and dogs out there. There are three to four million dogs living in shelters nation wide. So during Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month everyone needs to go and visit their local shelter if they are thinking about getting a dog and tell others about it.

Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month — Pet Stores

My Mom says that people should never buy a pet at a pet store. She says that some not all but a bunch of them get their puppies from PUPPY MILLS, or BACKYARD BREEDERS, Yuck!!  Bad things happens at them places. I know a lot of my cousins that were born in one of them and they have never been out of their cage and don’t know what grass is. Can you imagine that a dog never had their feet on grass?  They also breed my girl cousins over and over back to back and that isn’t good for them or the puppies.  So please tell everyone you know to Adopt, Don’t Shop.

Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month — Other  Ways to Help

I know there are some of you out there that maybe can’t have a pet for some reason or another, but there are other ways you can get active for animals. Mom tells people all the time that the shelters are always looking for Volunteers. They walk dogs, help to socialize dogs and cats, help out during feeding time, and a lot of other things that need doing around the shelter. If you don’t have time to do any of them things then maybe you, your family or friends can look around and pile up used blankets and towels, also any toys you might have and take to your local shelter or rescue group and donate them. Mom says you could also pick up and an extra bottle or two of cleaning supplies or  office supplies and drop them by there. So see there are lots of ways you can help out all my millions of cousins in shelters all over the country. Now Ya’ll get out there and Tweet it, Facebook it and anything else Ya’ll do all during the month of October, and help spread the word that it is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month.

Raising A Rabbit

Raising A RabbitHello my name is Ethel and I am a Rabbit. Mom got me at a flea market, don’t know why they call it that because I never seen a place to buy fleas anywhere out there. Besides who in the world would want to buy a bunch of fleas? I heard the lady tell Mom that raising a rabbit is a lot like raising a kitten. I don’t know why, I don’t look anything thing like my brother Meow Meow.

Most people call it “bunny proofing” but Mom called it “Ethel proofing” the house, but what she means is she put away or taped all the electrical cords so I can’t get to them. I still don’t know why she got so mad when I chewed on some cords under the desk. I was having all kinds of fun under there chewing on those cords when Mom found it she got so mad and put me back in my cage. The next time I went to get under her desk there wasn’t a cord to be found to chew on. She had taped them up on the wall so I couldn’t reach them. I went over to the TV and no wires there either.

Raising A Rabbit – Care

You will want to feed your rabbit a good quality rabbit pellets like Mom feeds me. Besides my pellets Mom also give me carrots for treats. You an also buy rabbit treats at most pet stores that are pretty darn good. Yum, I also love pieces of apple, oranges, Cheerios, and the center part of fresh pineapples. Just please don’t give us any cauliflower because it can kill us. It causes gas to build up and we don’t have any way of getting rid of it.

Mom always makes sure I have plenty of toys to play with. The tags on the toys say “Cat toys” for some reason, I’m not sure why. Anyway I love playing with them, especially the balls with bells in the center. Just make sure not to get any of them little stuffed ones that have CATNIP inside them because they will make us really sick. Yuck, I just don’t see why cats like them so much.

Raising A Rabbit- More Facts

Mom got me a fold up dog cage to use as my house. She likes it because when we got to visit anyone she can fold up my cage and take me with her. I love it because it is big and roomy. I love having a big roomy house so I can spread out and sleep. The only bad thing is the wire on the bottom but Mom just cut a piece of cardboard and put it in there . That makes my feet feel so much better. Mom also uses my house to keep me out of trouble when she is gone. She just shuts the door so I can’t get out till she comes home.

When you first bring one of my bunny cousin’s home just remember that they will be scared. It will take several weeks for them to get used to you and everything around them. If you have other pets make sure you observe them together for a while before you leave them alone in the same room. We are nervous to start with so things like vacuums or loud noises will scare us. Also you should handle them a lot and get them used to being on their backs. This will help with cutting their toenails. You can use cat nail cutters, that’s what Mom uses on mine. They need to be done at least once a month. This is just a few things that you need to know about raising a rabbit to be happy like me.

Guinea Pigs

Guinea PigsHello, my name is Miss Piggy, I am a Guinea Pig. A Guinea Pig like me can make a great pet and companion especially for those people who have kids. I have a lot of fun playing and wearing your kids out to make them want to take a nap or go to bed on time. I don’t need a lot of care. I am only one Guinea Pig though; we do better when we have a partner.

I love being socialable with other pets and humans as well as other Guinea Pigs.
Hey, Mom did me a huge favor; she went and adopted me a room mate by the name of Clyde. That was the best thing that ever happened to me. See, we live longer when there is two or more of us.

Except for when it came to being “fixed”. Yes, we Guinea Pigs need that done too in order to keep the population down and for us to have healthier lives. We really don’t mind being spayed or nuetered if it will help all of us to have a home and be happy.

Clyde my room mate is very shy so, I am the one doing all of the talking here. There isn’t anything shy about me.

Guinea Pigs and Playtime

Mom made sure we have a big roomy cage and we just love it. We like a roomy home because, we play alot with the toys in our home.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on toys for Guinea Pigs. Most of the things we play with you all ready have around your home. One of our favorite toys is an old metal oat meal box with both ends cut off. Make sure there are no sharp edges ’cause that can hurt us. Have you ever tried to put a bandaide on a Guinea Pig’s knee or to stitch up a Guinea Pig’s foot? First of all you have to catch us. It doesn’t matter it wouldn’t stay on nor would the stitches work we play too hard. Our Mom makes sure we don’t have anything sharp to play with in order to protect us from getting hurt.

We not only need plenty of play time in our cage but, we need what Mom calls “FLOOR TIME”. Mom will let us out of our cage and she will play with us. We love that time of the day. Guinea Pigs are social creatures. We love our social time with people too. The more time we’re around people the more we like it. Mom bought us one of those clear balls that are made of plastic. With little bitty holes for air. We love this toy because, we can run around and make it roll all over the place. Mom thinks we are so cute. The ball is a little smaller than a basketball; whatever that means. These are a MUST have if there are other pets around. Dogs and cats especially love to chase and catch us in our little balls. We think it is funnny because, they have hard time keeping up with our balls as we play. Ha, Ha, they can’t hurt us.

We have a big brother Meow Meow who loves to stalk us, he is a big cat. We can laugh at him because we are too fast for him to keep up with us. Clyde and I love to roll up to him and bump him with our balls then take off running when he catches up to us no matter how hard he tires he can’t get us. Mom just laughes and that makes Meow Meow mad. Another thing we love to do is follow Mom no matter where she goes; that way we can be with her. We love our Mom.

Guinea Pigs and Caring For Them

One of the most important things you can do for our health is keep some good grass hay available. We need that twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, for us to have a healthy life. Get you some good quality Guinea Pig pellets too. These are a must. Make sure they are for Guinea Pigs not those yucky rabbit pellets. We need fresh green leafy vegatables too. Please make sure we have good clean water in our water bottle at all times. We need our water bottle cleaned everyday. Everyday you will need to spot clean our cage. Remove any droppings and left over veggies from the day before, yuck who wants to eat day old veggies?

Once a week Mom will take everything out and clean our cage real good. She uses a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. She changes our bedding every week too. The best thing to use for bedding or that is what Mom says, “To cut a piece of fleece just to fit the bottom of the cage and under that put some old towels.” Then she shakes them out and washes them so that she can reuse them.

Every few weeks our toenails need to be trimmed and Mom has a real neat trick since our toenails are dark. She will shine a flashlight behind our nails so she can see the quick. Mom says, “That way she can see to trim them and not hurt us.” One time Mom accidentally cut mine too short and I began bleed. Mom hurried and stuck my toenail into a small pile of flour. That was another trick Mom had up her sleeve. Boy isn’t it great to have such a loving Mom? I bet my Mom loves us more than some people love their kids. All of these things are why we all love her so much.

You need to bathe us about every three to four months. We love to be bathed. Mom makes that so much fun for us.

You can see that we are very easy to take care of and we sure are a lot of fun to be around. So, if you’re thinking about getting some Guinea Pigs for yourself or your kids we would make you a great pet.

Adopt A Pet

Hello, my name is Meow Meow.  I am a four month old gray Tabby kitten who loves my new FOREVER home with my new mom Sissy. I really lover her; because she rescued me. My birth Mom only had me, so you could say I am an only child.

My birth mom was unable to keep me because, her owners didn’t want me.  So, when I turned eight weeks old I went to my new FOREVER home with Sissy. It would be nice if more people understood that getting an animal from your local rescues, Animal Shelters, or Humane Society will help keep “us” pets from the danger of being killed.  Why put us at risk? Help us and your local rescue groups and foster homes to pull animals out of the “Kill Shelters.” Your local rescue groups will help you adopt a pet and keep us safe from the “Kill Shelters”.

Adopt A Pet – Save Them From “Kill Shelters”

Adopt A Pet

There are very few “No Kill” shelters anymore, they are the only true safe haven for unwanted animals.  Due to such over crowding at the shelters, animals are put down in huge numbers.  Adopt a pet and you will not only save one life, you save two; because you make room in the shelter for another pet to be taken off death row, and put up for adoption. Did you know there is 11,000 animals euthanized everyday? Why? The reason is because, people don’t want us pets anymore or that is how I feel.

Now maybe you can see why I am so grateful that my Mom rescued me before I ended up in one of those kind of places.  Are you looking to adopt a pet like me or add a pet to your family?  Go to your local rescue group or your local shelter and save not one life but two.

Mom keeps in touch with the Animal Protection League for our area.  Mom thinks they’re nice but, I think they are mean.  They gave me a shot and boy did that hurt.  Ouch! Mom keeps telling me that the shot was for my own good, but Mom, “it really hurt”.  Now she keeps telling me that I am going to get fixed.  I look at her and I think what, “fixed”?  Mom says, “Pets need to be spayed or neutered and we can do this at a low cost for vaccinations, spay and neuter at the Animal Protection League”.  I don’t know what she is talking about.

Adopt A Pet Today

Are you ready to adopt a pet today?  Or rescue a pet?  I am sure you can adopt a pet from your local Humane Society.  They have all kinds of animals like me that need your tender loving care.  To rescue a pet contact the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and they can tell you; of the closest “No Kill” shelter in your area. What are you waiting for?  Adopt a pet today and save a pets life.

Being A PetHello, let me introduce myself, I am a gold fish and my name is George.  I live in a pretty round gold fish bowl on a shelf next to the TV so I can see everything that goes on.  My Mom keeps my bowl so sparkling clean with fresh water in it for me.  When I first came to my forever home I had a brother who was a Chihuahua named Pasqually.  One day Pasqually became very sick and my Mom was very worried and upset.  Then one day Pasqually crossed over Rainbow Bridge and now runs and plays with all our friends and family that has gone to Animal Heaven.  This made my Mom very sad, but she still came in every morning and stood and talked to me as she sprinkled my food on the top of the water for me.

One day as I was swimming around my home; what did Mom come up with?  An eight week old kitten she had rescued.  Really Mom; a kitten? Don’t you know kittens grow up to be CATS? Haven’t you ever watched those cartoons where the cat is always trying to catch the gold fish?
